A Complete Guide for Visiting New York the First Time

Tuesday, February 15th, 2022

New York, also known as the Big Apple, has everything a person could want, and arranging a trip there for the first time can be difficult. Visa Express can help you obtain travel visa around the world.

  • Eat a slice of pizza

One of the things that everyone should do when in New York is trying a slice of pizza. Pizza is one of the things that this city excels in, and anyone who fails to grasp it misses out on truly experiencing the city’s vibrancy. This city not only boasts the best pizza in the world but also a variety of pizza-eating methods to select from. If you want the typical Neapolitan style, Keste has it; if you want superb food for a low price, there are more than 50 places that can serve that requirement.

  • Brooklyn Bridge

Walking is an exercise that will keep you moving in New York City. The Brooklyn Bridge is one spot where you may enhance your walking experience. If you don’t mind crowds, you’re good to go, but if you do, the best time to visit the bridge is early in the morning. This one-mile stroll from Manhattan to Brooklyn is fantastic because of the stunning views and unlimited photo opportunities.

  • Times Square at night

This is one place that is usually avoided because of the crowd. Since this is your first visit to the city, you should get a feel for it at least once, and a bonus would be to go late at night, around 11:57 pm to 12:00 am. This time is known as the “Midnight Moment” which is the world’s largest digital art display and not many are aware of it. The brilliant lights and the fact that it’s one of the city’s most iconic landmarks will make this moment of your life surreal. All of this will remain a dream if you haven’t yet applied for Visa Express.

  • Experience the heights

The city is densely packed with skyscrapers, and the only way to understand this aspect of the metropolis is to visit one. Top of the Rock is a tourist hotspot and a bit pricey, but the view from the top is amazing and well worth the money. If you’re on a budget, you can even get a glimpse of the view by taking a tram from Roosevelt Island to Manhattan.

  • Walking in Greenwich and Manhattan

This journey feels mandatory since it separates you from the city’s pulse and crowd. The walk will make you feel like a local and will give you a reason to visit some of the neighbourhood’s beautiful boutiques. You can get yourself some coffee, sit in Washington Square Park and listen to some live music, but don’t forget to fill your tummy with a slice of New York Pizza. For the booklover in you, there is also a warm and friendly bookstore named Three Lives and Co.

  • Statue of Liberty

This is another well-known attraction in New York City, and there are several methods to get there. One of them is paying money to travel in a packed boat to have a closer look at the statue. Another option is to take a free ferry from Staten Island, but only if this is one of your top priorities. You can choose to view the statue from the inside. This will require a visit to the National Park Service website, and keep in mind that tickets are sold out months in advance and are available for a limited time only. Visiting the statue from within the crown is one of the most unique ways to experience the Statue.

There are a plethora of other things to do while visiting the city for the first time, but the list above will help you get the most out of your first stay. There are a couple more places I’d like to recommend, which I’ll mention here. Taking a walk in Central Park, purchasing a Broadway ticket, visiting a museum, particularly MOMA, and admiring the Grand Central Terminal’s architecture. This city is unlike any other, and your visit will be as one-of-a-kind as the city is.
