Paso Robles, already a wonderful place to visit, will soon become even more welcoming. Ayres Hotels, a hotel collection from Southern California, is projected to open the Allegretto Vineyard Resort in the summer of 2015.
Ayres Hotels Executive Committee Member and Ayres Family member Douglas Ayres had his eye on Paso Robles for over a decade, and has developed a connection to the area while searching for the perfect spot for his new resort, located at 2700 Buena Vista Drive, just north of downtown Paso Robles near the intersection of Highway 46 and Highway 101.
Douglas spent 13 years searching for the right piece of real estate in Paso Robles, seeking a spot that would create the perfect atmosphere. The vision for the Allegretto Vineyard Resort is an atmosphere that will inspire visitors to seek new heights in their personal, professional or family life.
Ayres Family history
The Ayres Family history is one that is deeply connected to California. The Ayres Family, originally from the Midwest, moved to Southern California around 1900. They grew their business while helping to develop areas in and around Los Angeles and expanded into the hospitality industry in the mid 1980s. The family business grew as the area grew. Now, the business is continuing that growth in Central California.
Shanna Davis, Marketing Manager for the hotel collection says, “The secret to success has always been simple: make guests feel like family whenever they stay and offer an exceptional and distinctive product. A distinctive product begins with innovation, and this has been an essential part of Ayres Hotels’ ever-growing collection of boutique-style properties. With this in mind, Doug Ayres embarked on the first ever resort venture for the Paso Robles area – Allegretto Vineyard Resort by Ayres.”
She continues, “We are honored to be a part of the Paso Robles community and we are looking forward to the opportunity to begin serving our community in bringing visitors from local, national and global areas. We are excited to introduce travelers to all that Paso Robles has to offer and look to partner with local businesses showcasing their products, goods and services to our distinguished guests.”
Spa, luxury pool, wedding chapel & more
The Allegretto Vineyard Resort will boast an enticing array of amenities, including a full-service spa, luxury pool with poolside service and café, wedding chapel, wine tasting room, restaurant and bar. The restaurant will employ French culinary techniques and will focus on locally grown food. The resort will also have vineyards, lush gardens, courtyards and orchards on its 20 acres.
Wine country inspirations
The resort will look to its wine country surroundings for inspiration, offering wine tasting, tours and cooking classes as well as activities like golf, hiking and tennis. The style of the new resort will also make a nod to Paso Robles’ growing presence in the international wine world and has been designed as a Tuscan-style estate, with 171 rooms planned in a Euro-chic style.
Anna Olson, General Manager for the resort says that guests “will feel transported to the region of Tuscany. They will visually experience hand-set stone framed archways inspired by ancient European monasteries and a centralized courtyard with cozy outdoor seating for the enjoyment of sipping a glass of vino or a freshly mixed spirit around a roaring fire or pit. Lush gardens and landscapes that generously produce earth’s bounties will be used in both our culinary menus as well as our spa treatment offerings.”
The vision for the new Ayres resort in Paso Robles is a commitment to excellent service in a warm and welcoming environment to reflect the charm of the Paso Robles wine country.
