Festival invites families for a day of fun and learning
—The Apples and Honey Festival will be held on Sunday, Sept. 16 at 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. at Mitchell Park, San Luis Obispo: 1400 Osos St, San Luis Obispo. The Apples and Honey Festival is free for visitors in downtown San Luis Obispo. Sunday’s Apples and Honey Festival will feature apple fruit booths from Slo Creek Apple Farms and Gopher Glen Apple Farms. There will be apple-themed games, apple arts and crafts for kids, gourmet applesauce, honey tasting and every type of baked apple goods you could think of.
This free event is sponsored by the JCC-Federation of San Luis Obispo and coincides with the start of the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah. In keeping with the holiday, kosher hot dogs and the Jewish pastry rugelach were also served. Storytelling by Author Bonnie Lady Lee and an animal showcase from Atascadero’s Charles Paddock Zoo are part of the festivities.
