Spend the day tasting exquisite wines
—Take a step into The Creamery Marketplace, look around at the diverse boutiques and restaurants in the area, and then settle in at the newest CaliPaso Winery tasting room for an unforgettable experience. From knowledgeable staff to quality wines, visiting the CaliPaso Winery tasting room is a perfect way to enjoy the best of San Luis Obispo.
“It’s a beautiful modern setting, with a garage door opening, to give a fantastic open-air concept. Guests can expect a relaxing atmosphere where they can take themselves through an array of CaliPaso wines,” said chief operating officer Jaime Glenn.
The SLO CaliPaso Winery tasting room, which opened in May 2024, provides a luxurious experience. Make sure to try the general tasting, which includes eight wines, and take a look at the reserve list. The CaliPaso Cabernet Sauvignon is a guest favorite; other wines to try include the CaliPaso 2018 Chardonnay, the CaliPaso 2019 Tempranillo, and the CaliPaso 2019 Pinot Noir. Glenn notes that CaliPaso also has “a beautiful Prosecco imported to our winery from Italy that is a wonderful way to start any evening.”
The high-caliber wines produced by CaliPaso have gained recognition on an international scale. The CaliPaso 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded silver at the 2023 San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Wine Competition. The CaliPaso 2019 Sauvignon Blanc won best of class and double gold at the 2020 Sunset International Wine Competition.
“CaliPaso’s main goal is to be a part of the community, sponsoring local events, fundraisers, and athletic events. We would like to continue that same path by immersing ourselves in San Luis Obispo events,” Glenn said.
In addition to the SLO tasting room, CaliPaso Winery has brought a taste of Italy to Paso Robles since 2011. A delightful tasting room is located near the Downtown City Park at 809 13th Street, while the extensive villa and restaurant are located among the Paso Robles foothills at 4230 Buena Vista Drive. The CaliPaso Villa features seven rooms and a suite. The classic Italian architecture promises a magnificent backdrop for events.
“CaliPaso is a family winery. Our huge goal is to support the community, give back, employ local Cal Poly students, and get involved,” Glenn said. CaliPaso Winery has previously been involved with non-profit Wine Country Runs, Wine 4 Paws to benefit Woods Humane Society, local youth sports groups, and more.
Join the CaliPaso Winery family at their new SLO tasting room and experience a taste of Italy right on the Central Coast.
