Auditions held on December 5 in San Luis Obispo and December 7 in Pismo Beach

Canzona Women’s Ensemble announces that auditions for their highly anticipated spring concert, “Embracing the Earth,” are being held on December 5th in San Luis Obispo and December 7th in Pismo Beach. The ensemble seeks enthusiastic singers with previous choral experience who share a deep passion for music and community.

Auditions are open to women with previous choral experience who are eager to showcase their vocal abilities. Canzona Women’s Ensemble is specifically looking for individuals who possess a
strong sense of musicality, dedication, and a desire to contribute to the ensemble’s success. Auditions will consist of a prepared solo piece of the singer’s choice, some sight-reading exercises, and vocal range exploration.

Canzona, San Luis Obispo County’s all-women’s choral ensemble, features the exquisite sound of women’s voices with two concerts per season, one in the fall and one in the spring. The group
collaborates with many other artists on the Central Coast, including poets, composers, dancers, and musicians of all ages, bringing the power and beauty of women’s choral repertoire to the
community. Canzona was conceived and brought to life by artistic directors and co-conductors Cricket Handler and Jill Anderson in the summer of 2009. Their mission is to further a love and appreciation for women’s choral literature, to expand this literature by commissioning original pieces, and to present the music with consistent excellence.
