–End your summer in style by coming out to Atascadero’s Cruisin’ Weekend! The weekend kicks off with the 26th Annual Hot El Camino Cruise Nite on Friday, Aug. 17 at 6:30 p.m., continues on Saturday with the 29th Annual Mid State Cruizers Car Show from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Atascadero Lake Park followed by the 3rd Annual Dancing in the Streets in the Downtown from 5-10 p.m.
This coming Hot El Camino Cruise Nite marks the 26th year that this cruise has been in place. It’s one of the largest and most popular annual events in San Luis Obispo County and one of the city’s signature events. On Friday evening, over 400 local cruisers from the 1950’s and 1960’s come downtown from across California. These beautifully restored antique cars cruise up and down El Camino Real from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Cruise Nite festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17, and the Mid-State Cruisers Car Show will be at Atascadero Lake Park on Saturday, Aug. 18 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., where you can check out the interior and exterior of a wide variety of antique cars. These cars will then cruise on over to the downtown at 5 p.m. and will park in a VIP area next to City Hall to kick off our 3rd Annual Dancing in the Streets.
On Saturday evening at 5 p.m., Dancing in the Streets will jump-start the evening with the Martin Paris Band at the Entrada Stage on El Camino Real and Entrada. There will be five bands, community entertainment, food trucks, beer, wine/cider and distillery vendors.
The evening promises a full variety of music for everyone’s enjoyment and entertainment, whether you want to dance or just enjoy the music and engaging atmosphere!
Special community entertainment performances by Atascadero’s Recreation Services Ballroom Dancing with Sharon and Dan Davis and Mary Smith’s Dance Around the World Dancers (ages 2-11 years old); Motion Academy of Dance; Jeanie Malik with Dancing with Our Stars to present the 2019 Dancers along with some Line Dancing to put the evening in motion with Christina Troxel’s A-Town Swing Dancers.
A variety of food trucks will be available including Railroad BBQ, Mary’s Cuisine, All Event Corn Roasting, Heavenly Hot Dogs, G Brothers Smoke House and Kettle Corn, Taqueria Don Jose, La Luz Del Mundo’s winning tamales, Bravo Pizza, Templeton Pizza & Greek Food, A Slice of Templeton Jerky, Hurricane Kitchen and Atascadero Printery Foundation Food booth, Oh SLO Good Caramels, Sweet Grace Cookie Company, Coastal Cravings, Harmony Creamery, Chocolate Dippins, and Marston’s 101.
On tap, they will have Bristol’s Cider House, Central Coast Brewing, Earth & Fire Brewing, Figueroa Mountain Brewing, Firestone Walker’s 805, Libertine, Manrock Brewing, Naughty Oak Brewing, and Tent City Brewing. Plus wine from Ancient Peaks Winery, Justin, and Lone Madrone, and Sangria from Yes Cocktail Co. In addition, Cutwater Spirits will all be on hand to quench your thirst.
