Restaurant has featured yummy dishes since 1963
Since 1963, Pismo Beach Fish and Chips has cemented itself as a delicious seafood restaurant beloved by locals and tourists in Pismo Beach. The convenient location, popular dishes, and comfortable environment makes for a memorable dining experience.
The dishes
Pismo Fish and Chips has served its wildly popular clam chowder for years, which is made from scratch daily. The fish and chips combo is also well known, and the fish is hand dipped in the batter for a truly delicious meal. Each dish is prepared with the highest quality and is homemade, which consistently brings the locals back to enjoy their favorite meals. More than 15 types of fish are incorporated into the dishes, whether through a topping or the main focus, such as salmon, swordfish, and sanddabs.
Mouthwatering dishes such as crab louie salad, crab stuffed shrimp, and shrimp and scallop tacos, are a must try at the restaurant. On Wednesdays in the winter months, a great option to try is the family special, which features samples of multiple dishes for an inexpensive price. The restaurant offers a versatile menu for those who wish to enjoy a meal without seafood, such as the rib-eye steak sandwich, garden burger, and French dip sandwich.
Through Cafe Runner, Pismo Fish and Chips offers deliveries for those who wish to enjoy the seafood dishes they serve, either from home or an alternate location. This service started about three months ago, and meals can be delivered to multiple towns on the Central Coast, with the price increasing depending on the distance.
The community
The summer months brings many tourists to Pismo Beach, where Pismo Fish and Chips is a premier dining experience to taste the flavors of the ocean. However, locals repeatedly come to enjoy the atmosphere and food year round. There are locals who come dine at the restaurant since they were young, according to owner Karishma Smith. “[The restaurant has] been a staple since 1963, and we’re still following the old recipes…that people love,” said Smith. The location is convenient for diners to access the heart of Pismo Beach after their meal. The beachfront is one street away for a dip in the ocean or to lounge on the sand, and the bustling downtown features many shops to explore.
Whether you are looking to enjoy a classic plate of fish and chips, warm up with clam chowder in a bread bowl, or sample a piece of fresh fish, Pismo Fish and Chips will satisfy your appetite.
