 Harmony
Welcome to Harmony: Popula- tion 18. Founded by a hand- ful of rouge artists and dairy farm- ers, the town is a quick, fun stop in-between Cambria and Cayucos on the stunning North Coast.
The town of Harmony began as a dairy settlement in the late 19th century started by Swiss immi- grants living near the Italian border — the same background as many of San Luis Obispo County’s founders, including the Madonna family, owners of the Madonna Inn located in San Luis Obispo. Harmony is one paved street off of SR 1. The main structure is a “U” shaped building, the former creamery, with the open area being a small plaza. On the far side of the structure is the Harmony Pottery Shop. On the near side is the former post office and a lounge for visitors.

Fun places to check out in Harmony
What’s there to see in a town of 18?
Harmony Valley Creamery
In a town where nothing is ex-
actly ‘normal’, the folks at Harmony Valley Creamery know what it takes to create awesome craft ice cream, made in small batches that delight the taste buds of locals and visitors alike. Founded in 1913 around a burgeoning local dairy industry, the formation of the Harmony Valley Creamery Association would see Harmony serve as the capital of Central Coast dairy production for nearly half a century.
Harmony Chapel
Shouldn’t every wedding begin in Harmony? We think so. And it doesn’t get any more quaint than Harmony Chapel – from its beauti- fully hand-carved wood doors
to the quirky wine barrel facade, there’s really nothing quite like it. The Chapel accommodates about forty seated guests with stand-
ing room for twenty more, while Harmony Gardens is an outdoor ceremony option for those who prefer their nuptials au natural, or have a larger guest list. Whether your dream is 10 guests or 100, Harmony is the perfect place to tie the knot or renew your vows.
Harmony Glass Works
Harmony Glass Works now
lies at the north-west end of the street. Founded in 2007 and open daily, the shop is a gallery, studio and school, which offers beginner classes in glassblowing techniques.
