Paso Robles
Odyssey World Cafe, a local favorite,
takes a new direction
Still serving delicious food and local connections as new owners take the reins
Odyssey World Cafe, has been a Paso Robles favorite for over 23 years. The café is a local hotspot
for lunch and dinner as well as a favored downtown meeting place for friends, family and business meet ups. New owners, Carmelo and Anna Rodriguez, who recently purchased the café from founders Dawn Gregory and John Haw-
ley, are long-time players on the Odyssey café team. Well, actu-
ally, Carmelo as the café’s kitchen manager and chef for the past ten years is the longest player on the new management team. Anna has been helping manage the café since November when she and Carmelo took the reins.
“We were grateful to have the opportunity to benefit from the
busy holiday
season to
start us out
on the right
foot. We just
received our
ABC license
and escrow
just closed. Of-
ficially, we are
now the new owners!” said Anna.
Odyssey is still a place where locals gather for business lunches, book groups, birthday parties, bridal showers and popular spot for first dates! From lunch, afternoon coffee, wine and snacks, to din-
ner and dessert. The fresh casual kitchen menu has something for
every appetite from soups, salads, stir fry bowls, tacos, gyros, burgers, steaks, chicken, sseafood, Italian dishes, sandwiches and wraps. Top off your choices with fresh brewed coffee drinks, local beer and wine and save room for dessert.
“Our menu boasts a favorite for every customer. We are proud of our grilled salmon salad, chicken picatta and each of our taco options offer a unique salsa that should not be missed!” said Anna. “For the past 10 years, Carmelo has helped curate
the menu
to what it is today and it is with his guidance that I know we will continue the tradition and success of Odyssey.”
Carmelo has been
active in the
restaurant and hospitality industry for over
20 years. He immigrated from Guanajuato, Mexico in 1995 and has worked his way up through the kitchen ranks. Anna comes from a background of small family owned businesses and knows first-hand the satisfaction that comes from working for yourself, supporting
