Wine Tasting
 By Matt Browne
I’ve been fortunate to know Mat- thew for a handful of years. It’s been awesome to see them start their family winery here and watch it grow over the years. If you haven’t yet been out to their winery on 46 East in Paso Robles, I recommend you check them out. The Glunz Family is an asset to our local com- munity in many ways. Get to know a bit more about them through this Q&A.
How many cases are you produc- ing each year?
Around 3,000
How many acres of vines do you have?
We have 40 acres, 10 planted to cabernet, petit verdot, zinfandel and primitivo.
Why do you think Paso Robles has become such a big wine destina- tion?
I think that there are a ton of reasons. Wine quality and value. Paso wines over deliver for the price. We have an incredible diversity of varietals that are grown here and that winemak-
ers are passionate about. There is also great diversity in experiences from the traditional tasting room experiences to Tin City and more tasting excursions.
What are some of your favorite food and wine pairings?
I love zin and almost any meat
off the grill. Marinated or heavily seasoned tri-tip or lamb and a fruit forward zin with some spice. Every time!
