Arroyo Grande—Two weekly markets on Wednesdays 8:30-11 a.m. Smart and Final parking lot at 1464 East Grand Ave. and Saturdays noon-2:30 p.m. at Olohan Alley in the Village.

New Year’s Eve on Broadway
Dec 31, 7-9 p.m. — Ring in the New
Year with a citywide arts celebration gala featuring some of the best Broadway, opera, and dance selections with a special tribute to Stephen Sondheim. Performing Arts Center, 1 Grand Ave, San Luis Obispo. Details: pacslo.org.
New Year’s Eve Concert and Bonfire Paso Robles Dec 31, 7-11 p.m. — Paso Robles Downtown City Park. Free. Rain or shine. Food trucks, local beer, wine and cocktails, activities for kids and dancing. Ball drop at 9 p.m. to coincide with midnight on the East Coast.

Carlin Soule Memorial Polar Bear Dip
Jan 1, starts at noon — Cayucos Beach, Cayucos. This is a favorite Cayucos Chamber of Commerce family-friendly event, in partnership with multiple county agencies. Free.

Avila Beach Polar Bear Plunge

Morro Bay Winter Bird Festival
Jan 11-15— This annual ecotourism event draws birdwatchers from all
over the country. The festival features hundreds of events, field trips, workshops and master classes. Held at various locations around Morro Bay.

SLO CAL Surfing Open
Jan 11-28 — Pismo Beach. The World Surf League (WSL), established in 1976, is dedicated to changing the world through the inspirational power of surfing. Details: surfingforhope.org.
Father & Daughter Sweetheart Dance
Feb 2 & 3, 6:30-9:30 p.m. and 7-10
p.m. — Fathers, grandfathers and uncles, bring your special girl to the Father-Daughter Dance at the Pavilion on the Lake, Atascadero for a semi-formal evening of music, dancing, refreshments, & more!
