Emerging leaders recognized during annual conference
– Senior Communications Coordinator at Visit San Luis Obispo County Kylee Jepsen was honored as one of “The 30 and Under Emerging Leaders” for her contributions in the travel industry. Recognized by the California Travel Association, Jepsen was acknowledged for her contributions through Visit San Luis Obispo Country as well as her individual efforts to promote travel, tourism and hospitality.
Jepsen has been with Visit San Luis Obispo County since 2013 where she serves as the senior communications coordinator and film commission liaison. She assists journalists, filmmakers and tourists alike who travel to San Luis Obispo County for culinary, coastal and cultural experiences. She currently works in Paso Robles and lives in Arroyo Grande.
“Jepsen is a key contributor to the team,” said President and CEO of Visit San Luis Obispo County Chuck Davison. “I am proud of her talents being recognized by the state travel organization as she has positively impacted tourism in San Luis Obispo County. Her skills, talents and initiative help us with our core mission of marketing.”
Jepsen is a graduate of the mass communication and journalism program from California State University, Fresno. She moved to Paso Robles after graduation in 2008 and immediately fell in love with the region. She began working in the wine industry in 2009, and since has had the opportunity to work with local wineries, restaurants, hotels and visitor bureaus throughout San Luis Obispo County.
“I feel the best way to promote an area is to be actively involved in what it offers,” said Jepsen. In her free time, Jepsen takes advantage of local events, hikes, dining, and many other activities. Jepsen currently resides in Arroro Grande and works in Paso Robles. Visit San Luis Obispo will soon be relocating from Paso Robles to San Luis Obispo.
