Pastels, drawing and mixed media classes offered
–The Morro Bay Art Association will be hosting various art workshops this fall.
On Oct. 28-29, Clark Mitchell will be hosting a 2-day workshop, “Enlive Your Pastel Landscapes with Vibrant Underpainting”
Mitchell is a professional artist from Sonoma County with an international following. His masterful use of color and interpretation lend a rich, distinctive dimension to his landscape paintings. Mitchell is known for his expressive capabilities and peaceful interpretations will make the viewer want to linger.

From October to November, the Morro Bay Art Association will host “Beginning Drawing” classes with award winning artist, Larry Le Brane. These classes are designed for beginner to advanced students. During this popular class you will learn foundation drawing skills with lectures, demos, student practice, instructor coaching and gentle critique. Students will discover new ways to see line, form, perspective, shading and composition.
Le Brane received an M.F.A. from Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles. He has taught fine art at Orange Coast College & Cuesta Community College for over 35 years. He has been a juror for previous art exhibits and is regularly represented by galleries located on the Central Coast. His work is in public and private collections nationwide.

The cost is $118 for 6 Tuesday afternoon classes. Materials are added fee of $20- $25. Materials list provided during first session. The classes will be held on 6 Tuesdays; Oct. 4, 11, 18, 25 and Nov. 8 & 15. There will be no class on Nov. 1.
On Oct. 14, the Morro Bay Art Association will present a one-day workshop in mixed media collage given by award winning artist Page Graeber. Her captivating work includes a variety of artistic mediums which signify bold and vibrantly rich color. Her skilled use of media conveys an eye for the dramatic, composition and subject matter. During Graeber’s workshop, students will learn several techniques at one time to create a stunning collage. Beginning with a sturdy foundation, setting a mood, layering mixed media and adding embellishments to your composition for a unique finish. Students do not need prior experience and supplies will be provided. Page is a member of several local art groups. She is a past President of the Paso Robles Art Association, Signature Member of Watercolor West International, International Society of Acrylic Painters and Central Coast Watercolor Society. Her work is fun and vibrant as she states, “My work is a projection of my personality.”
