‘Movement to Music’ concert at the SLO Senior Center on August 1
—The SLO Wind Orchestra invites senior citizens to join them for an afternoon of music, movement, and community. This event is free to all and promises to be an afternoon filled with the experience the uplifting power of music in a welcoming and supportive environment.
This unique concert is co-sponsored the City of San Luis Obispo and the Community Foundation of San Luis Obispo, highlighting the collaborative efforts to enrich the lives of our senior community through the arts. In addition to the musical performances, physical therapists will be on hand to encourage and guide participants in moving to the music. This initiative aims to promote physical activity and well-being through the joy of music.
The San Luis Obispo Wind Orchestra, also known as SLO Winds, is a 45-member group of wind and percussion players that performs throughout the Central Coast of California. With some of the most accomplished wind and percussion players in the area as its members, the orchestra is dedicated to performing the finest works written for the wind band at the highest possible artistic level. In doing so, the orchestra hopes to foster a better appreciation of the wind ensemble repertoire and make an important contribution to the cultural vitality of the Central Coast community.
