Enjoy beautiful downtown Paso Robles with a cup of joe and treats
Aromatic coffee, decadent chocolate and scrumptious desserts are waiting to be enjoyed at Sips & Sweets, a new coffee shop in the heart of downtown Paso Robles. Formerly known as Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, the new shop has gone independent to offer a variety of treats, such as ice cream, and a cozy area to bring the community together.
“I hope to provide a great atmosphere for everyone to enjoy with their families…somewhere where people can come and hang out, chat, entertain or maybe it’s an after dinner sweet treat,” said owner Briana Dickey, whose family owned the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory shop for almost 13 years before going independent.
Popular drinks to enjoy include the scrumptious mocha and latte. There is a secret menu to hunt for the perfect drink; check Sips & Sweets Facebook page to catch a post about their newest drink. One specialty hot drink, The Devil Mocha, is a creamy, decadent mocha with a hint of cayenne pepper that is sure to perk you up during the cold months. Another local favorite drink is the “Sip Frap”, a coffee theme milkshake with ice cream and two cold brew shots, drizzled over caramel or chocolate sauce and topped with whipped cream. Cider, tea and hot chocolate are also available in addition to the variety of coffee.
Desserts include classic cookies, muffins and Rice Krispie treats; rotating desserts are from San Luis Obispo’s very own Edna’s Bakery, which are “flying off the shelf”, according to Dickey. Tasty ice cream is a new addition to this location.
While sipping on a cup of joe or relishing a baked goodie, be sure to relax in a comfy chair to watch some TV, chat with friends or play a friendly game. There is a multitude of board and puzzle games to choose from, such as Jenga. HGTV and the news will be shown on the two television sets and free WIFI is available.
As Sips & Sweets continues to grow and connect the community, special events such as live music nights, a chocolate fountain, and much more will occur at the shop.
