Sunday May 6 taste California olive oil

—The Groves on 41, a unique California olive oil farming and specialty EVOO production operation founded by the Mother/ Daughter team of Karen Tallent and Jennifer Tallent Joseph, will continue the celebration of Olive Festival weekend with a special California Olive Oil experience, Inside the Olive, at their farm on Highway 41 East in Templeton. Join in the fun on Sunday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Though Festival goers will have tasted their way through dozens of our local olive oil producers at Paso’s City Park on Saturday, The Groves on 41 will invite guests Inside the Olive, taking them further behind the scenes of this ancient specialty crop that is garnering so much attention today.

This three-hour “agri-cational” journey is fit for foodies, as well as those seeking to further their learning of farming methods, crop history, know-how on identifying fraudulent products, and professional tasting methods. Event goers will discover health & beauty secrets of this multifaceted liquid gold with Life Elements founder Martha Van Inwegen, and insider culinary tips on cooking with EVOO with Chef Jacob Lovejoy of love.joy.eat catering, who will be curating a decadently delicious brunch menu to celebrate his love of our locally grown olive oil.

Activities at Inside the Olive include a walking tour showcasing planting, pruning and sustainable growing practices, making your own EVOO body scrub while you learn more about the health & beauty benefits of olive oil in your daily routine, and Chef Jacob’s cooking demo will take you through his tips & tricks of cooking with this liquid gold.

Tickets are limited. Early Bird tickets are available for $55/pp through April 15, then $65/pp thereafter at www.farmsteaded.com Ticket includes CA Olive Oil experience, educational tour, health & beauty workshop and delicious locally grown and made brunch.
