Winery goes six for six as Zinfandel takes the gold

Villa San-Juliette earned a big victory at The Dallas Morning News and TexSom Wine Competition, submitting six wines and receiving six new medals; one gold, three silver and two bronze. The event, which featured 2,729 wines from 27 states and 20 foreign countries, celebrated its 30th year as a leading wine competition in the industry. This year, the event was adjudicated by 14 judges’ panels that consisted of wine critics, distributors, importers and sommeliers, which included 13 Master Sommeliers and seven Masters of Wine.

Villa San-Juliette Vineyard and Winery’s winning wines included:

2011 Zinfandel — Gold

2011 Chorum — Silver

2010 Merlot — Silver

2011 Petite Sirah — Silver

2012 Sauvignon Blanc — Bronze

2011 Cabernet Sauvignon — Bronze

The gold medal-winning wines will be published in The Dallas Morning News’ “Salut!” special section. All wines that received medals will be available online in a searchable database available at search.enofileonline.com and downloadable results for 2014 are on www.dallaswinecomp.com. The winners receive exposure to TexSom’s national network of wine buyers at a tasting of medal-winning wines during the TexSom conference in August 2014.
